harbor freight... 5 bucks.. floating charger... i cut the aligator clips off... soldered on some wire conectors... and a quick release plug... attached the wire conectors to the battery and ran the plug down behind the battery box... this way i just PLUG it in like all the $$$$ ones that are out there... took no time to make... if anyone wants me to do it for them let me know... i am making 6 this weekend for my buddies

If you install the SAE trailer wire to the battery, you can also purchase this:

then you can power up a device which comes with a cigarette lighter, such as cell phones, GPS, etc. I'm about to mount a Garmin Quest using this method.

If you are absolutely sure you won't get a chance to ride over the winter why bother with a tender? Take the battery out of the bike and bring it in the house. I am an optimist and choose to hook the sporty and the FXDL up Two tenders and the hookups cost me 90 bucks from my dealer. Works for me

Just picked up a Schumacher battery companion, I have always used/owned their chargers in the past and decided to stay loyal to them. It only ran me $31 and seems to be pretty good quality.
