hi lollypop here in the U/K,i read on a lot of threads people fitting loud pipes find them to LOUD.try this salution,wear earplugs,they let you hear all the good sounds & damp out all the other stuff you dont want to hear[i kid you not]tara for now,lollypop in the U/K.

 

I almost ALWAYS wear mine if I'm going on a ride out of town. I know exactly what you mean.

 

I've worn them too. They make a big diff. You can still hear everything, just that the loud constant noise doesn't bug you.

 

I work in a cabinet shop so I always take a handfull of earplugs. not only do they help with bike and the wind noise, but bugs a dirt too

 

I wear earplugs. I like the way you can feel the bike rumble, much more with earplugs.

Sounds like a good idea.... no pun intended.

 

No offense to anyone, but if you need ear plugs while riding your bike, what possible hope is there in endearing those around us to motorcycles - including and especially the EPA? If you need ear plugs to ride, your bike IS too loud!

hi thumper 26,the thing is there is more to it than just if you fit loud pipes, even with street legal standard pipes the benefit of using ear plugs are huge in regards to ear protection.you will notice that after a certain speed all you hear is[and i will say this LOUD]wind noise!!with all due respect,the point i am making is that ear plugs take away the bad noises and let you hear the drone of the engine,the actual type of pipes is erevelent loud or soft.tara for now lollypop

 

My bike is not too loud. I wear ear plugs because the wind noise leaves me with a degree of deafness for while afterwards if I don't wear them.
