There is a flap with snaps,looks like he put it behind the fender strut and snapped it secure and cut off the bottom flap,as there is no where to seure it to.

Here, bolted on an home made battery cover :

 

on mine they have a bolt that replaces the fender support bolt in between shock and the turn signals.

It has a metal bar on the back side that keeps them from flapping around

so its one bolt on and off

ill try to get a pic of how it mounts up when i get home today.

also were the bags altered, ie. cut or anything to make them fit?

they have a metal strip bolted to the actual bag, the top bolt is long enough that it replaces one of the fender support bolts, and has a nut that goes onto it from the inside of the fender. as far as i can tell there not altered in any way and came as two pieces. im pretty sure the guy i got it from is nothing more than a bolt on guy so im pretty sure they came as they are put on with no mods done to them.
