Completely agree with this post. I feel much more in control with mids than forward controls. Its easier to shift your weight on the bike with mids, which for me means better control in corners and improved long distance comfort.

I think Highway pegs are the way to go. After about an hour if I have to stop at a sign or light my legs cramp up. If I had pegs I could stretch them every so often. Either that or maybe I'll pick up a suspension that is a bit higher up.

Went back and forth with this for over a year. Then I rode a buddy's Sportster with forward controls on a run through the Dragon. I like my mid-mount controls much better when in the twisties. So I got the adjustable highway pegs, as Shu said, you can have both.

And no, you don't have to get the crash bars for highway pegs. The adjustable highway pegs mount to the frame.
