Where can you find the color codes? I just tried Google and all I got was some Color-Rite thing.

A guy from TNT emailed me back, one part said:

"I sold one of these to a customer that had a 2007 Sportster and he made it work, but there was a big change in the motor of Sportsters in 2005, and since yours is a 2002, I really have my doubts that it would fit."

What makes you say "08-later" HB's will work on all models?

well, i am saying it because i know a guy from another forum that bought the model # listed for 91 and later.. he also has it on a 2007.. soooo - if it fits 91, and it fits 07, and the 08 model also fits the 07 - AND after comparing the two models - we found NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES, the 08 model was epa certified and that is the only difference.. - i come to the conclusion that the 08 model should also fit 91 and later.. i will find the model number for the 91 and later model... however either model should fit..

Yeah, a combination of what you said and the fact that I looked at a lot of websites and ebay and the part numbers for some of the 91-08 and 08+ HB's all coincide. If they have the same part number, they all gotta work.

Heres some info from a few sites:

PN: 29264-08
1991-2008 Sportsters

PN: 29264-08
08-Later Sportsters

PN: 29789-05
"This kit is listed in Harley's SE catalog to fit 91-later XL Models"

Can't they make these things simple?

Ok, theres been an auction up for a used 91-08 HB that has 10k miles on it. It's at 200 now. I think I might as well wait for a new one for that price. I think I'd get an 08-later one if those are the only ones I see, as there are usually quite a few around for sale.
