Default Sportster seat question

I Changed my stock seat for a Sundowner. Seat is great, very comfortable, but there is a problem.
I feel as if im sitting on the seat, and not in it, if you know what i mean.
I feel like im sliding about, and would prefer something like the seats you see on Softails.
Seen a seat that looks as if it would be perfect, but its off a 2002 "hugger", think this is a
883.
Im considering taking my seat off this winter and having it redesigned, but maybe the cost would be to much. If i find the right seat, the Sundowner can go on Ebay, should cover most of the cost.
Come on Guys , any ideas.
Dee.

Take Fast Hoss's word for it. The Mustang will keep your rear end just where its supposed to be. And it really is more comfy than the sundowner

Give Mean City Seats a call and let them know what you are looking for. I had tem repad my seat and it is comfortable and I feel more like I'm setting in the seat than riding on top. They have very reasonable prices and are very easy to talk with when explaining what you want.

Sitting down lower on the seat into the frame is one of the design characteristics of a softail.

I had that same problem...I felt like I was up on the gas tank.....I only use it for long trips with my son now. I put the stock seat back on it and after a couple of days decided it really isn't that uncomfortable. I don't wanna ride it from TN to PA like I do the other seat, but running around town it isn't bad.

I agree with wviceman. I brought my stock seat to Mean City Cycles and it only took an hour to do. Just tell them what it is your looking for and they can do it. Very reasonable pricing too. They pushed me forward and made it more comfortable. My husband had his narrowed and they put the memory foam in his as well. We're both really happy with it. And its a lot cheaper then getting a new seat.
