Default Windshield Ideas for '04 Sportster Custom?

I'm new to riding - less than 2 weeks. Just broke my windshield Thursday skidding on gravel road (yes, I have road rash; and a seriously bruised ego). So...I gotta jump back on the HOG cuz I can't give up. But with cooler weather approaching, does anyone have ideas on a great windshield? Do you know if I'll need a relo kit for my front signals? Thanks! The new girl.

I got the H-D quick detach windshield for my wife's '04 1200C. It's great for her - and she's 5'9". She sees just over the top of it. A bit pricy but really well worth it for us up here in cold Canada. Oh, and no need to relocate anything.

Yep, HD quick detach. Worth the price. Easy on, 2 seconds to get it off! Thanks Mark

For an inexpensive handlebar mount windscreen that goes on and off in a minute, try a SlipStreamer S-06 Spitfire. They go for around $50 on Amazon.com with free delivery. They look good, are well made, and do the job. When set up, they detach with two butterfly nuts.

What kind of windshield did you have? You may be able to just get a new plastic shield. I know Memphis Shades offers replacement shields for the HD Ouick Disconnect.
