SE 44 mm Carb

Too much carb as everyone says but sounds like you want to anyways! Big carb does not = big HP. You will also need a SE-type sized manifold to fit a 44mm carb and grey-colored carb seal gasket to mount it (stock is a 40mm with a black gasket). The 44mm on your bike (as listed for mods) will have waaaay slower throttle response, poor or erratic idle and lurching at slower speeds, poor gas mileage, and fouled plugs because all you're doing is dumping gas in it's throat esp. if you're not running a free-breathing AC and a cam to support it.

Custom Float?
Performance Slide Needle?
Vortex Emulsion Tube?
Light Weight Slide Spring?
Drilled the barrell?
Jetting?
Ported and polished intake?
Unless you mod the motor. A bigger carb will make the bike run like chit and have less power than before.

I have it on my 2002 883r/1200. It is part of a build that included thunderstorm heads, buell high compression pistons, SE coil, SE ignition, SE cam kit, SE Pro 2-! exhaust, and a forcewinder intake. the best HP I can get is 74 hp. my tech says it's because he can jet the carb properly, it spits and backfires like an SOB and runs rough. He recomends I get rid of the 44 and the forcewinder and my bike should produce much higher HP.

Sorry Dude but a bigger carb isn't going to help that combo, you are making almost exactly what you should be making for HP.
Your tech is a retard if he things a bigger carb is going to help.
You are basiclly running a stock Buell which isn't much compared to the aftermarket, for some reason you think you should be getting more HP than what a stock Buell got, if you want more HP then you need to spend a lot more $$$$ on head porting and really big cams.
My bike was built by Head Quarters and it puts 85 HP to the ground using the stock cams.

I wouldn't do it as stated several times above....you shouldn't need a new carb until you bump up to a full-on stage 3 (or a bigger engine kit). It's a waste of time and money if you don't have the ENGINE to go along with it. Even the Mikuni is a waste, you won't notice much difference at all with basic mods.
If your carb is well-tuned, then it's not the problem. Next step you might want to take would probably be ignition, heads, cams, etc.
If you put that carb on your bike, I guarantee 100% it will NEVER run right, or (if you can ever manage to get it out of the garage) you will have MAJOR top end issues in a short amount of time.
A well-tuned CV will go a looooooong way. Spend your money on parts that might actually make a difference - that's my two cents.
