What are the options for putting apes on a 2008 1200c? Not cables, bars, risers, but the speedo issue. Been researching this to put 16" apes and 1 1/2" risers on. Dealer tells me my options are to buy the 08 1200L speedo, bezel, wiring harness, etc. for about $500 or buy an after market digital speedo. Anyone?

 

Not sure but I would like to know the answer too. I am thinking of putting them on mine.

 

wow! C'mon guys, hard to believe that no one here with a 1200c ever put on apes.

The harley parts were all for the speedo.
I think they all came to around $40. Way overpriced!!
Everything else was from Discount cycle which has real good prices.
I just used 18g and 16g wire to extend the harness 15". Solder and heat shrink tubing.

 

Try e-bay, right now there are a couple speedo housings off of 05 and up Sporster lows. I just bought a chrome one for less than 100.00 the 2 that I just saw on ebay are black and the bids are starting around 15.00. I still may need to get a wiring harness. Check it out mayby you'll get lucky.
