Got one, and the back rest helps me sit up straight which keeps me from developing a sore lower back, and it also allows me to ride longer than when I was riding on the stock 1200 Custom saddle, which aint much of a saddle at all. The Mustang seat itself is o.k. IMHO, it could stand a little more cushioning, but it may just be me. At any rate, it sure beats the stock unit that came on the bike.

'pab' I was told you can adjust it back and forward about 2" is it easy to adjust? I have a 06 1200-C, would I need pull back bars or will the stock bars work o.k.? I want to be sure I can set back in to the backrest with the stock bar...Thanks.

I added small buck horn bars, which act as pull back bars in this case. For me they work great with the back rest. Because of my height, approx. 5'9", I wasn't comfortable with the stock bars & the back rest. I couldn't really sit back against the back rest. The small buck horn bars, for me anyway, made the backrest really work.

I ordered it for my wife when I got her Mustang, thinking she might want to use it on longer rides. turns out, she uses it all the time. looks great, with studs around the back of it to match the seat.

It pops off/on instantly, folds down to assist her getting on and off the bike, and keeps her on the bike when she takes off from a light with her hair on fire!!

O.K. guys thanks for the advice. As I said, I want to be sure I can set back in to the backrest with the stock bar on my 06 1200-C, I'm 5' 10", from what I have seen here looks like I should get pull back bars, but I cant afford that right now. A lot of guys have said they get by fine with the stock bars. My wife just gave me the green light to get one. We dont have the $ to spend like we did, [ we live in Michigan] So I hope this backrest works out. My wife knows how bad my back hurts when I'm on the bike so she said I better get one soon while we still have some $ in the bank . By the time I get one, winter will be here, so I will need to wait until spring to try it out. I will let you know how I like it then, and if I will need to save up for new bars... Thanks.
Gary.
