Default 2 questions, sundowner seat & exauhst mods

how many think the 2up sundowner seat looks ok on the nightster? was gona get one that didnt hang over the fender as much but hec i already have it so figuerd i might use it anyway. the other thing is the dealer wants almost 800 bucks to put rush slip ons on my bike, remap and the air cleaner change. would it be easier on the pocket to get what i needed myself, hand it to them to put on or just play it safe and let them do it. im still under warranty so i dont want to screw that up. thanks in advance for anyones replies and help.

Well the sundowner seat will move you forward about 2 inches, hope you have forward controls.

You can buy all the performance stuff, including an after market fuel management system (like a power commander) for around $500. The installation is pretty easy and you don't have to leave it with the dealer.

i agree that this can be done by yourself. i have a reach 2up seat on mine and did my own rush 2" slipons. took about an hour and a few beers but very easy to do. power commander is plug and play (although getting it to fit is sometimes try and cry) but definately something you can do yourself and you get the added benefits of knowing more about your scoot and how to work on it and you can take the money you save and buy more schtuff for it.

i know the sundowner seat is comfortable, but i just dont like the look of it...but thats just me.

the 800 the dealer quote you is about 2-300 in labor. You can get all the parts on ebay and various other good online dealers probably for between 5-600 and i'm told all those mods are fairly simple, though i've yet to do any myself. still, I'll be doing my own mods when that time comes. I'm personally going with the vh straight shot slipons, the se hi flow and PROBABLY the vh fulepak, though the jury's still out on that one for me. I may just do the dealer download, which obviously they'd have to do, but the price is about the same, so.....
