I rode all the way to Milwaukee from Northern Ohio with a full face helmet and my iPod on and had no issues. I will admit that it does drown out traffic noise-somewhat-but I have never felt uncomfortable while riding with them in. I tend to rely more on my vision than hearing anyway.
I wear skull candy smokin bud ear buds with my mp3 player. It is legal to have 1 earbud in your ear in Virginia but I usually have both in when I'm using them.
I'm leaving in the morning to ride to NC to see my daughters for a couple of days, and I will have one earbud in on the ride. I usually don't even bother with the Zune on my ride to and from work since it's only like 10 min each way.
I use skull candy ear buds as well. I don't need to raise the volume higher than what I would need to hear the music just sitting still. That should say something considering I already lost hearing from combat.
I rode with my Zune and both earplugs from Tacoma, WA to Milwaukee for the 105th with no problems except for when the Zune fell out of my vest pocket at 65mph on a highway with a gravel shoulder. Went back the next morning and found it. Still works but it is really dinged up...
Hi, I usally have My Creative Zen MP3 and Skull candy ear buds on while riding. I don't blast them as I don't blast My truck stereo either while driving it. I can hear around Me OK, but really would like to have tunes on My Sporster in a fairing . MP3+Buds= $50.........Fairing with tunes......$1400 ( painted to match the bike ). Looks like buds here for awhile for this guy ............WVleo
