Hey guys,
I just installed some Rush 2 inch baffle slip ons with a bologna cut on my 08 1200N and they sound GREAT!

My only issue is when I let off of the gas and decelerate they pop. It doesn't really bother me or anything, but I was wondering if something might be wrong?

 

My Cycle Shacks pop when decelerating also. I like it, reminds me of the 12" glass pack mufflers I had on a '71 Nova.

 

Ok, I just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to hurt anything on the bike.

 

Hmm. I've been down this road. I had Rush slipons with 2.25" baffles. I THOUGHT it was running pretty good despite having done nothing else but put them on and go. But the popping got really bad, and in general the bike was not feeling right (This I realize after being in denial for quite a while because I LOVE the sound!!). To make a long story short I just took them off and put the stock pipes back on.(The bike runs much smoother, although the sound SUCKS!!). I have now decided to buy 1.75" baffles and try them. I'm waiting for them to arrive. I am going to try THEM without having to do anything else (air cleaner, remap,etc), and see how it goes. I have been told by several people that the 1.75" is the biggest I should go if I am NOT planning on doing all that other work. Just thought I'd pass that on.

 

I have the 2" rush on my 1200C and it pops as well. it was doing it a bunch when i first had it done but after my 1000 mile check it doesn't do it as bad. the dealer told me the only way to get rid of the poping is do the download and change the aircleaner. the dealer also said it might not make all of the poping go away still.
