I'm not familiar with the Lapera seat, but there ain't too much room under that Nightster seat for much lower profile without any mods. Have you ever taken the seat off? The ECU actually is kinda tucked up into the stock seat, prolly why so many complain about it!

I've considered lowering mine too, to get it even closer to the frame. My plan is to re-locate the ECU and then custom build a memeory foam seat to match the contour of the frame and fender. I'm a little worried that my knees might be up in my armpits by that time though. I wanna keep the mids but I might hafta devise a way to move them up a little bit.....

This is mine with the Bare Bones for the 3.3 tank. If you want to keep the tank gap you need to order the one for the 4.5 tank.

Save your money and skip buyin' a new seat. Just have your stock one cut down. Check out Mean City Cycles. They'll do it cheaper than the cost of a new seat.

I've read a number of times here and over on XLF that on the 07 models with huge ECM that Allen (MCC) can do little if no cutting down of the seat only shaping and adding foam as there is just not enough room with the way the seat pan is shaped around the ECM.

Lepera is the way to go or you may also check with Chuck at www.ccesats.com to see if he has the newer seats out yet

I was assuming that by making the seat more "low profile", he was just wanting some of the back part cut down. The front is pretty low already. My guess is there is still foam on the back part of the seat that can be cut down.

My wife had her seat on her 883L, which has the same seat as the Nightster, cut down and memory foam added. The back part was left alone, though. She likes the seat a lot more now.

how much lower is this thing compared to the stock seat? is it worth it to spend nearly 200 dollars on a new one?
