Default Fit....Brawler seat on Nightster

So I got my Brawler seat today and I really like it...but a couple questions for you that own them.

1) It barely fit...and the tab on the back is at its max. The **** to hold it on is super tight to the seat and there is a good inch sticking out. Is that common?

2) It rides really close to the tank...which the stocker didn't. Should I worry about that rubbing paint off? Is there anything anyone is doing to avoid it if it will?

I dont mean to ask such noobe questions but I really don't want to screw this bike up with incorrect parts and stuff.

For those that are wondering, I rode about an hour and a half...down some of the worst country roads that Indiana has to offer and it is "noticeably" if not "much" better than the stocker. And it moved me back about an inch or so.

Thanks all!
