Default Nightster- new seat question

Is anyone running a seat designed for the larger tank on their nightster? Isn't that why our stock bikes have the gap in between tank and seat?

My reason is that I am looking to do a little bit of 2-up riding with the girlfriend (just around town) and i'd like to grab a stock 1200C seat off ebay. They seem to go for less than $100 all day on there. Since the custom has the bigger tank, will the seat fit the Nightster? I believe it will bolt up, but it will leave the same gap that our stock seats have, but i could be wrong. Any input is appreciated... especially pictures!

I put a HD badlander on mine. You can see the pics in my gallery here on the forum. There is no gap between the seat and tank now. I would ask your dealer to see one in person, they should let you fit it on your bike to answer your question.

I've got the HD Sundowner on mine with detachable sissy bar. It works pretty well, but it puts you up higher off the ground. I normally switch it out with the stock seat for daily riding. Lots of cushion but my wife's butt still hurts after about an hour or so.

the stock seat off of a custom will bolt up. you just have to make sure you get one off of an 07+ so it has the cutout for the ecu. so just keep that in mind other than that all sportsters wave same location where the seats fit.

Thanks for all the replies... especially the comment about the 07+ ECU cutout. I did not think of that!

As mentioned as long as it's got the cutout for the ECU it'll bolt right up, it'll just have a gap between the seat and the tank.
I actually like the gap, so when I bought a Mustang seat for my 1200N I got one for the larger tank. I think it looks good!

thanks for the pic Abrinson! That mustang looks great, and they're supposed to be comfy.

Plus, it shares the name of my favorite airplane, the P-51 Mustang
