Doesnt matter, they fit the same in either position. Its funny that they say they dont fit? Probably could of sold more if they would say they fit the sportster.

OK, got the pegs and shifter **** in today and had them switched out in less than 20 minutes. No problems at all. They look freakin' awesome!!!! I really like the way they feel too. Can't for the life of me figure out why they say they won't fit the Nightster. They fit fine and they look custom made for the bike. Think I'll order the grips to match tomorrow!!

Congrats and glad everything went ok for you! I love the grips. I think they are a bit bigger than the stock rubber grips. Could be my mind playing tricks but just find them fitting my hands a bit better.

How difficult of an install were the pegs? I have some ordered along with some matching grips. I did a little reading and it seems like there's a chance of screwing some things up with the grips if done wrong. Just trying to decide on whether to do myself or let the shop handle.

I believe the reason they say they dont fit the nightster is because, since the nightster has such a low stance, it is very easy to scrape parts on it, especially the pegs. These pegs are a little longer than stock and if you ride the twisties, they can scrape pretty easy. Also, you can't install the little metal feelers on the bottom of these. Its just a liability thing for HD. Just coverin their asses.
