Default Venoms on Sportster any reason not too?

First thing monday I'm droping off my wheels at a indy shop to have new Venoms put on. I'm having a 90-90 21" tire put on the front, it's about 1/2" wider then the stock skinny tire. Rear tire same size as stock. I know a guy with a BT and he loves them. Any reason I should not love them on a 06 1200-C ...Thanks.

I've got over 5000 miles on mine and they have lots of tread left, I like 'em!

I love mine. I also ran them on my last bike.

I can give you plenty of reasons to get them, but no reason not to.

I love mine. I too went with the 90/90 on the front and it is awesome. The handling on these tires is superior to the factory dunlops.

I concur with what everyone else here has said. If you've only run the stock Dunlops before, you'll think you got a different bike handed back to you at the garage. The difference in handling and feel is phenomenal. And they seem to be rock solid in heavy water, too. I got stuck on Friday in the heaviest torrential rains I've ever seen, including hail and some standing water, and the Venoms tracked straight and true with no threat of hydroplaning anywhere. That was a pretty good test for me.

Let us know what you think once you've put a few miles on them.

They're good. I am going to switch out to Metzlers here soon after I burn off the back tire. I am not into the high profile look of the front venom, compared to the stock dunlop. So I'll just have to make sure and get a lower profile up front next time.

I just found out today stock rear tire is 6.15" wide. Venom H rated is only 5.90" wide, so I'm going with a V rated because it's 6.20" wide about $20 more. He is out of V's but has some coming in friday. So I may not get to try them out until Sunday. After I get some miles on them I will give a full report on the Venoms. I have never had any thing but stock tires on my Sportsters, this will be all new for me...

UP-DATE
I have 227 miles on my new Venoms, way better then stock all-around. Makes my bike ride smoother and handles the curves a lot easier. I love the look of the 90/90 21" front tire dont look as skinny as the stock 21" did. I can now go from lane to lane on the highway and I cant feel the seams in the highway like I could with the stock tires, love that.
Thanks for the advice... Great tires.

Glad your liking them!

I just got new rubber, I ended up with metzelers. I was thinking about the venoms, but a good buddy of mine has them on his wide glide. He say's the rear is slicker then ****. He said it started out good ,but went down hill as it wore. he has about 2500 miles on it.

He does have the 103" kit.

Mark g.
If your buddy is right I just put 2 pc of junk on my bike. I put on over 5000 miles a summer so when I get 2500 miles on my Venoms I will give a full report. I hope he dose burn-outs every other day or he got a bad set of tires or something. I cant aford 2 sets of new tires every summer. So many guys seem to like them a lot. Very odd...
