If you are going to go for the street bob later then I would go for a used bike now. Buy one that someone else is taking a loss on instead of you. I prefer the 1200C, it is more versatile. But if you are going for the street bob then you probably like the blacked out look. It all boils down to you. I think someone else pointed out that one of the bikes will speak to you when you go in to get it. Good luck.

They are both great bikes. Lots of good advice here and you will make the decision that best suits your taste and riding needs.

I considered the Nightster when I saw it online as I thought it was a cool looking bike, but did not give it a second look when I saw the Custom. The Nightster just looked too dang small for me. It is 4.5 inches shorter in length than the Custom and the Custom is only 2.5 inches shorter in length than the Dyna Super Glide/Street Bob.

The Custom (vivid black) had that nice classic black and chrome look that I loved and it was already set for 2 up, forward controls, larger tank, 21 inch front wheel, and longer suspension. Since they were the basically the same price, it was a no brianer for me. I went with the Custom.

I don't care for the mids either...even tho I'm not that tall. I use highway pegs all the time 'cause I didn't want to pay the $$ for the forwards. H-pegs: $80. Of course, you have to move your foot down to shift!

ya, my dealers price for the FC is only like 300 or 400. I also was lusting over the nightster...i like the all black and the black and orange, but i ended up with the custom. For me, it was the chrome. I had to have the chrome.

Well I made up my mind and drove home the 1200C tonight. It is the first bike I have ever owned or even rode. What a rush that was driving home. Loving everything about the bike. Thanks for all of the advice guys.

Congrats. Careful with the overspending on the Chrome accessories :-)

Congrats. What color did you get? You should post a pic or two. That feeling when you first get her is amazing. Welcome to the Sportster family.

Its all black. I put about 100 miles on it tonight and my wife had to drag me in the house so I would get off the bike.

I will post up a bunch of pics tomorrow for you guys.
