Default Need a service manual

I need to buy a service manual. I saw a Haynes service & repair manual for 70-03 sportsters on ebay for $27.50. Is that the one I need, or is there a better one on the market. I want to learn how to do as much as I can myself to avoid HDs labor charges. Besides, I just like to tinker on my toys.

I guess Haynes are OK. They are pretty generalized and have never been worth much on the cars I've owned. I suspect you can find one of those at any of the bike shops for about the same price and at least see what you're getting.

Personally, I swear by the real shop manuals, for the year of both auto and bike. I've found Harley's own to be excellent and well worth the price.

I have that manual and it's AWESOME. real pictures instead of drawing and color wiring diagrams makes everything a heck of a lot easier

74_ironhead, is that the Haynes manual you're refering to?
