I have noticed some oxidation on the heads of some of my hex bolts. Kind of wondering what you people are maybe using to clean this up and is there anything that can be used to prevent this from happening? Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks
Dremel with a metal brush and a polishing wheel will shine em back up, coat em with some clear to make it last. The ceramic hi-heat thickens up alot, and won't stink your oven to high hell if you decide to bake em in small quantities.
If they are chrome bolts use some wd-40 or any type of rust penetrate on a q-tip, clean it out, good afterwards and brush on a little clear nail polish, (get a wife or girlfriend to buy it, tough to try and explain at CVS!) and let dry. At least that works for me.
On my 08 1200C, I bought off ebay, polished stainless steel and replaced all the bolt, screws on my bike. Done once and for all. Just follow the info about the lube and torque. Looks great.
