Default Check Engine Light

I went out for a ride on my 05 1200R the other day and the check engine light kept going on and off. There didnt seem to be any ryme or reason. The oil level was fine and the oil pressure light didnt come on. The bike seem to run fine and didnt run any different if the light was on or off. Any Ideas on whats going on?? OH and the bike just turned 6000 miles.

Did you look up the stored code in the list? It's likely telling you that you have a problem and where to look for the problem.

The code was P0563-battery voltage high. It didnt give me any other codes. So I reset it as per the instructions. Maybe I missed somthing, but I was following the instructions line by line.

Regulator might be going bad, be interesting to put a volt meter on it while it's doing it, shouldn't be much over 14.5 volts at about 1500 RPM, if it is, I'd change the regulator before it boils your battery.

The one time I got that code, it was soon followed by the failure of the stator and regulator. Bye, Bye $500.00

I will certainly keep an eye on things. How much is a regulator? Maybe I should just go ahead and replace it.
