Does anyone know where I can get silver coated indicator bulbs for a Sportster. I have fitted smoked lenses but I don't like the look of the unlit amber indicator bulbs showing through the smoked lenses. I have seen custom bikes with bulbs which light up amber but look silver when unlit. I presume they have some kind of coating? Any clues? Tks.

You can get them at just about any Auto store. Look for the Sylvania Silver Star 1156A (A=Amber) for the running / turn (one button in the center) and 1157A or R (2 buttons) for brake / turn. The last ones I bought were around $15 or so for the pair, but they last for a very long time. They aren't as bright as clear bulbs with Amber or Red lenses, but they are as bright as most LED's. I used them with clear lenses.
