Question who has hi milage sportster

no search results so here's the question.

who's put on or bought a sportster with high mileage. like over 50K

a guy on another thread was going to buy a XL with 39K was asking if it was a good idea. He got a few reasonable answers but no one chimed in with I have a Sprotster with XXXX miles and it's doing great. So who's out there with a bunch of miles on their bike?

I don’t have 50,000 miles yet, but I do have a 2007 1200 Low that has 30,200 miles and so far I have the following done:

Replaced leaking rocker box gaskets at 12,500

Replaced leaking head gaskets at 17,500

Replaced clutch at 25,000

Replaced rocker box gaskets again at 30,000

Waiting on a fuel line to come so the leaking one can be replaced, 30,200 miles

I have had problems with the primary chain inspection port cover leaking since about 8,000 miles. The dealer has tried to stop the leak by replacing the gasket (7 times), to no avail and ended up replacing the primary cover, inspection plate, and derby cover at 26,000 miles.

All the repairs have been done under warranty except the clutch (normal wear and tear) and the bike has been serviced regularly by the dealer every 2500 miles.

We need to check in with SportyPig. He was over 35K last year on a 06 883.

Default Final Drive Belt Replacement?

I don't see it mentioned here, but I would be interested in learning if anyone has put a new final drive belt on, at how many miles, and why it had to be replaced.

Bought a 2006 883c two years ago almost to the day. Did all the suggested scheduled maintance pretty much on time. Swithced to synthetic in the engine and primary at 1,000 miles. After 28,775 miles the only thing to need attention was the throttle and idle cables. The outer casing cracked in several places and the dealer replaced them no questions asked.

Default 39k tested

I was the one about to buy it, and had Smokey Mt. HD do a thorough inspection, and they couldn't find anything wrong, only reason I passed was I got one for the same price( less extras) with 4k miles. I would have bought the 39k roadster.

Default How about 150k

High mileage does not hurt anything if it had proper maintenance!!!! I have a 74 xlch which basically has had no major engine work done to it. In 1975 I took the front end off a 72 Chevy Impala and had to change some broken valve springs due to the engine coming to an abrupt halt. I blue printed the top end at that time and it has been running ever since. It has been through three style changes but the engine is untouched. This was in my younger days and this thing has been rode hard and put up wet many times. This thing will run 133 mph @ 7500 rpm and has been there more times than I can count. This thing has been all across the southern US and 1000 mile trips weren't anything except the old lady having to ride on a partly filled beach ball, by the way, the so called vibration doesn't bother me at all. Yea, it will vib around 3k to 3.8k but smoothes back out @ 4k. If the bike has been well maintained, miles will not hurt it.

I've got 40k (64,000 kilometers) on my 2006 XL1200.I had to replace front and rear wheel bearings ( don't use preasure washers),2 belts,1 pulley,2 starters, out put shaft seal,3 sets of break pads and 1 pair of tires.
