I have been talking the local dealership and asked if they make ape hangers for an 08. They tell me that the stock bars are incorporated with the speedometer. I would imagine that it is possible to change the necessary components, any advice? thx in advance.

 

I'm getting some apes custom fabricated at a local bike shop. Check around at some custom shops. I'm sure it won't be a problem.

 

no only the risers and clamp are incorporated. you can put any 1" diameter apes on there. if your not going to internally wire them make sure they are dimpled. thats all. hope this helps because theres lots of customs with apes of all years 08 are no different. but if you guys have them fabbed or buy them make sure they have knurling. for those unfirmiliar with knurling its a process of creating cross grooves in metal for grip used on alot of things but make sure there is knurling where the bars sit in the risers otherwise the bars could shift position.

 

I agree with the previous post. I put the HD mini apes on my '08 N. I did have to purchase new cables which was the pricey part. Some have used the stock cables and rerouted them. I did not go this route as I had the apes installed before I took delivery.
