On Sunday I went for a short motorcycle ride with no destination in mind and discovered Mud Mountain Dam.



I'm still really new to riding, so I like these kinds of rides - going whichever way I feel like going - as I go, seeing the countryside, ... and discovering something new.

 

Saturday I went on a poker run for the united way, sponsored by Michelin (where I work) had lots of fun but my pair or queens wasn't worth a damn...

 

Saturday, went for a ride down the Mississippi River with a new lady friend. We took the Minnesota side from Minneapolis to Winona, and then went across to the Wisconsin side and took that (more scenic route) back to Minneapolis. Put on 250 miles with that trip.

Then on Sunday, rode up to a little town north of the Twin Cities called Sunrise. There is a great bar with a great bartender (the Sunrise Tavern). Don't blink or you'll miss it.

Total miles for the weekend: 425.

This was great practice for the ride next week to Milwaukee for the 105th HD Anniversary party.

Anyone else going to Milwaukee?

 

I finally got on my bike for the first time. I got out in front of my house and learned the whole clutch thing. I mean I know how to drive stick on a car so it kinda helped me out. So I just practiced what is was like to ride in first gear and practiced walking the bike forward&backward (my thighs are killing me). I don't take my class till Oct 2 but shi* I was really excited about doing what I did...lol. So from now till my class every sat& Sunday we will be practicing. I did have my fellow bikers from my block come down and they were really cool and told me that I did a great job. Can't wait till this weekend maybe I'll make 2nd :-)
