I've searched, but found no definative answers. I'm looking for an exhaust for my 06' HD 883 Custom, White in color. I want the signature deep grawl - ear piercing sound that is HD. That Earth shattering deep grunt.

I have saddle bags and am concerned that the shorter exhausts might ignite my bags muhahahahahahahaha. I like the look of some of the Vance and Hines but am unsure.

I am sure there are numerous opinions on the matter, if you could share some of you knowledge on the matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely and with respect,
Nathan

Vance and Hines makes a good product. They make some of the most popular exhaust systems for Harleys. You should not go wrong. I personally have Khrome Werks mufflers on mine because I got a killer deal on them and they sound great. Slip on mufflers will be cheaper than a full exhaust system.

I've got Vance and Hines Straight Shots on my '06 883, and it has a good sound. They can be loud as hell when you really get on the gas, but I can also leave for work at 4am and not bother the neighbors. I have heard that the optional quiet baffles for the V&H pipes make the exhaust not a little deeper without really making them 'quiet', but I can't say that for sure as I have the standard baffles that come with the pipes and I am happy with the way they sound.

Just installed the V&H Shotguns on my 04. Fired it up last weekend and it has a great deep throaty sound.

Hopefully be able to get it out on the road this week for the full shakedown ride.

I have the Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 1 on mine. Love the deep rumble and it kicks the exhaust away from anything on the bike. Looks great also.

vance and hines are awesome all around, but if you want something different, straight, and sound good, you might want to look into samson pipes, they are slightly longer than shortshots, and usually have some kind of sweep at the end of them, a friend has a set and they sound just as nice as V&H

I have V&H Straightshots HS slip-ons. They sound great ... and don't set light to my throwover bags.
