question about baffles

Default question about baffles

i have a 2006 883 with stage 1 and pythons they sound great but i would like them to be louder..is it ok to remove the baffles or do i have to do anything special after to the bike anyone know???

Removing the baffles will basically make them drag pipes. You will gain sound but loose low end power. You will also require a rejet.

I pulled my SE II baffles and redrilled them. More holes means more air which means more sound. No power lose and no rejet required. Want more sound just add (or enlarge) holes.

I agree. Baffles are in mufflers to obtain power and torque. Without them, you would loose alot of power. Adding a few holes in the baffles would help with the sound and most likely keep most of the power.

Taking the baffles out will make it louder but will also make it run like dog crap. Invest some money in the engine, you know like a 1200 conversion with some compression and it will get louder.
