Default Shocks for 08 1200c???

I'm looking at replacing the shocks on my 08 1200c so can anyone give me some advice on shocks that would give a better ride??? These stock shocks rattle my teeth out of my head every time i hit a bump.

If I'm not mistaken the stock shocks are 11.5". If you want to go with a little taller seat height, 12"-13" would give you a longer shock travel, hence a better ride. Progressive 412 shocks seem to be the overwhelming favorite here, because their fairly priced and their good shocks. I have 11" Progressives on my Low and it's much better than the stock shocks. Inseam measurement and weight would also be a consideration. I have a ridiculously short inseam of 26"...leg length 28". This means 11" shocks are about all I can do and still flat foot. Weight is a factor in getting standard duty or heavy duty shocks. If you do a lot of two up riding then you'll probably want 12-13" heavy duty shocks.

The stock shocks are actually 11.75". Given the angle they are mounted on, going to an 11.5" only decreases the seat height <3/16". Likewise going to a 12" only increases the seat height <3/16". If you are looking for a better ride I would not recommend the 11" shocks because of the shocks limited travel. If you can stand your seat being raised <3/16" I would go with the 12" otherwise go with the 11.5"

Eastern Performance, a forum sponsor, has good prices on them, also be sure and get the Standard Duty not the Heavy Duty 412's.
