Default Help with Throttle cable replacement

I have a 98 1200s sportster.&nbsp\\; I replaced the clutch cable with a braided line and now I am attempting the throttle/idle cables.&nbsp\\; I removed the throttle cable, but found that the stock cable is held into the housing by a c-clip.&nbsp\\; The cables I purchased are threaded at end that would go in the housing.&nbsp\\; Did I purchase the wrong cables or are most sportster throttle cables threaded?&nbsp\\;
