Default Sportster Backrest for Pilot?

Hey fellars, I've got an 08 Roadster and me back hurts a good bit after about 30 minutes. I have a less than robust back, so its mostly a personal problem. I've tried the stock seat, the Sundowner seat, and various modifications to these seats with some success, but I believe it could be better. Looking at the Mustang seat with backrest, or the HD Tour-pak, or just running a sissy bar and putting a peice of luggage back there for me to lean up against. As most of these options are quite a few pesos has anyone with semi back problems had any success with any of these?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks.

go for the mustang, dollars well spent IMO, and your back will love you for it.

What was wrong with the sundowner? I'm looking at the sundowner or the mustang for little wider seat area, which would help with my back. Using the pillow seat now till I can aford another seat, my plain stock seat just kills my back pillow is alittle better.

Maybe check out a back brace or supporter around your back. Have you ever had the need to use one? It may be the answer to your particular problem.

On longer or all day rides I run with a T-bag on the passenger seat. I put a piece of extra firm foam in the bottom 1/3 of the bag which provides lower back support and have the rest of the space for storage. Works out great.

What was wrong with the Sundowner?
Nothing for most people. I must have a nackered up back as&nbsp\\;it isn't doing the trick. I need more support of some type. I'm sure the Sundowner&nbsp\\;is more than comfortable for most people.
&nbsp\\;
As far as the Corbin or the Mustang do they really support the low back firmly? I guess I look at them online and base on the way the seat pan fastens only in a couple of places and the materials the pan is made of I worry that it might flex with a 230lb body against it. Can some of you guys that own it comment if the backsupport flexes or not?
&nbsp\\;
I haven't tried a wrap around back support, that might help.
Thanks for the advice.

I bought the Corbin wide touring seat with rider backrest to mount on my 07 1200R.&nbsp\\; I tried it at Americade and thought it felt rather stiff but after listening to other people buying them at the Corbin trailer I took the chance.&nbsp\\; After riding it I find it seems hard to he touch&nbsp\\;but is much more comfortable than the stock seat.&nbsp\\; I weight about 215 and find the backrest adds greatly to the distance that I can ride and still walk afterwards.&nbsp\\; We then put it on my wife's 883R and she ordered one with backrest. ( She weights less than 215 ).

I made an adjustable back rest yesterday for my Sporster out of stuff lying around my garage. It has a back support pad that can be moved from down low all the way up to between the shoulder blades.

I run a Corbin solo with backrest... saves my lower back...
