Default Any oil change tip's

I'm just getting ready to do the first oil change on my&nbsp\\;girl friends&nbsp\\;07&nbsp\\;883L. Is there any tips or tricks you have found to make the job go easyer? I have a service manual for her bike and am pretty handy with a wrench, I've done 100% of everything to my FLHRS.
Thanks guys.

Usual common sense stuff. Have the right filter wrench. A few rags for spills. Warm the oil but, no too hot. Use a rug or padding on the floor if you are not using a lift.

Unless you are changing the primary/Tranny fluid.

drill a hole in the filter to get the oil out before taking it off. It's a real mess if you don't.
