Default Windshield Saga

Have a 08xl1200c w/ detachable windshield.&nbsp\\; Have not been satisfied with the ride...&nbsp\\; Test drove a 03xl883 Hugger for the wife today w/o a windshield and it drove better than my 08.&nbsp\\; Got home and took my 08's windshield off and went for a ride....&nbsp\\; The ride is much better w/o the windshield.&nbsp\\; I still can't believe it...&nbsp\\; Has anyone else noticed such a thing?

My windshield is only on if I think I'll need it, (long rides or if the bugs are out) otherwise no windshield for me. I guess you kinda have to get used to it.

Three things can cause problems for riders with windshields. Improper height, improper angle, and no lowers. I had a bike back in the 80's that had a windshield on it. Never could get it set right. And at speeds over 60 mph, caused the entire front end to wobble. Ruined me forever on windshields.
