Default 1200 or 883?

Guys what would u do? I found 2 bikes a 2000 1200c with 4500 miles its mint and a 06 883 like new 500 miles what would u go for? Im in a spot of my life moneys tight this guy really sounds nice a family guy but any break down or leaks or anything would kill me money wize right now. Do u think a 2000 bike is old? I no it has no miles but what u think? a bike that old leak? Any help would be great thanks!

That would be a tough desicion for me.&nbsp\\; As long as the bikes were taken care of and serviced on schedule, I wouldn't see a problem with either of them mechanically.&nbsp\\; But depending on the price, you may want to get the newer bike then convert it to a 1200 later if you would rather have that.&nbsp\\; I practically stole mine at $3500 and&nbsp\\;883 is pleanty of power for the bike.

I take it they are the same price? if so the 06 883 would be tempting...but... I have seen thousands of posts on here about converting an 883 to a 1200 and never one who wanted to convert their 1200 to an 883 so I would be shopping for a 1200 if it were me.

thats def a tough call if the 883 were an 07 id say go with that cause of the fuel injection. but other than that how big of a rider are you? odds are the 883 rider found it might not have been enough power for him and decided to upgrade so if you are a bigger guy like myself i would say go with the 1200 because i found the 883 didnt have enough power for higher speed travel on highways and freeways. and the 1200 is an original 1200 or upgraded 883? what is the actual price of the 2 bikes?

I would buy the 883... not only is it newer and has fewer miles but it has the rubber-mounted engine and should be a more comfortable ride than the other bike... my wife has a 2006 883 and she loves it and I think it's a great bike too.... lots of fun to ride and comfortable too.
