Default remap questions?

Will be installing a new exhaust (ShortShots)&nbsp\\;on a&nbsp\\;08' Nightster in a few days,&nbsp\\;first off, what exactly is the tech looking at when they do the remap?&nbsp\\; What adjustments will be made if any?&nbsp\\; Is it completely neccesary or strongly reccomended?&nbsp\\; Any suggestions or advise from you guys is greatly appreciated.&nbsp\\; Take it easy......

Default RE: remap questions?

I'm actually looking for the same answer. I just bought some new pipes and cant imagine that this would make such a huge deal that&nbsp\\;I need to remap the bike or buy a power commander. Is the HD computer that worthless? It should have range specifications and should be able to accurately recognize the change in a fuel/air ratio and addapt within a range. I could understand a little more if I was changing the pipes and air cleaner/intake. Hmmmmmm~ any answers?

From what I understand.&nbsp\\; Changing pipes only - No remap required.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Changing Pipes and A/C - remap strongly recomended or required.

The computer is designed to work within certain parameters. On a stock bike it's fine. With better pipes it's fine. Throw in extra air and it can't accomodate. I wouldn't remap unless I was doing both pipes and breather.
