Default Sporty Carb Question (not jetting)

I recently bought a '92 1200 Sporty.&nbsp\\; It had been sitting for quite some time, but started okay.&nbsp\\; But, when opening the throttle it died &amp\\; fuel spilled out the bowl overflow hose.&nbsp\\; Had the same problem with my FLH, so I thought the jets were clogged.&nbsp\\; I took the carb apart, cleaned it, &amp\\; replaced the jets (stock sizes).&nbsp\\; It actually wasn't too dirty &amp\\; the old jets looked fine (i.e., not clogged).&nbsp\\; Put it all back together.&nbsp\\; Same problem- it starts, but when I open the throttle it dies &amp\\; fuel comes out the overflow hose.
&nbsp\\;
Any ideas?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks.

The diaphragm in the accelerator pump is torn is what it sounds like. that is that little rod that is attached to the thingy that the throttle cable is connected to.

cv carb has rubber diagphram at top end, it raises the slide by air pressure, replace it all your problems will be solved. even a pinhole leak will ruin it.&nbsp\\;

It was the nozzle from the accelerator pump....&nbsp\\; No amount of carb cleaner (sprayed into nozzle from pump side) cleaned it out.&nbsp\\; I ended up sucking it clear from the nozzle end- an amazing amount of gunk in that narrow tube.&nbsp\\; Now it runs fine....

I would run some Sea-foam through the carb, now that you have it running.
