Default Nighster haters?

So i was on a different forum ...about quad cam's..and they like to have bastard in their name..and i noticed that their not so hot on the nightster... i was under the impression that sportsters are sportsters and harley's are harley's.. their all great bikes.i personally love some of their bikes but wouldn't do that to my nightster. i still want it to be recognized as customized nightster. planning on springer seat and z bars for one and maybe some small things added to the paint job, but i didn't know that some people really hate on it that much.

I like nightsters, but I don't like how they are a factory imitation of what people have been doing with bikes for years... Blacked out "bobber" look.&nbsp\\; Taking them for face value, they're sick bikes but when you look at what Harley was doing when they produced them it's kinda comical in my opinion.&nbsp\\; Same thing with the Rocker imitating choppers and the old school imitation Crossbones... I'm not against them, so don't take it the wrong way.

I have noticed this in the past couple months while looking for my first bike.&nbsp\\; My step bro and I were discussing this issue the other night.&nbsp\\; It's not really directed towards Nightsters in general as much as towards the darker bikes is what he was telling me.&nbsp\\; The Nightster just gets more grief due to it's popularity.
&nbsp\\;
The way I look at it is... I like it, I'm going to be the one riding it, Why do I need to fit into "your" picture?

"To each his own."

sry vincent.. i ment that a sportster is a sportster, referring to the model type, and that a harley will always be a harley. refering to the company

Who would "hate" your bike anyway? The Nightster is pretty much one of the best Harley's that has ever come out. At least it looks cool, and it doesn't have all that corny, "blingy" chrome. For Myself, personally, I would have never bought a Harley if it hadn't been for the Nightster. Modern Harley's are good bikes, espicially Sportsters\\; and I've got 5876 miles on my 2008 Nightster that I brought home on 04/02/08. The only thing the 1584CC bikes have on us is less MPG...

I agree with googs. I guess i can relate to the "my bike, my style, my build" attitude. but like every factory bike it's a starting point. Yea i don't want my nightster to look like every1 else's but i do like the fact it's a recognizably a nightster. Is it commercial? yea, but i think it also allows people to feel like they can have a specific look and to aspire to make it even more unique. Not every1 is skilled mechanically to put a bike back together from the ground up, some may want to learn(guys like me) and to others it can spark that inspiration.

i was thinking about signing for that site but the requirements are so strict and it doesnt seem like a good place anyway.

i prefer a home-built bobber to a factory produced one, but i dont hate the nightsters. in fact i saw a REAL LIVE one for the FIRST time today in LA, it didnt look too bad at all in person.

If i could build a home build bobber i would, i just don't have the mechanical skill or knowledge. but like every1 else they have to start somewhere, and i choose the nightster. It looks great and i'd like to think i can only make it look better.

just didn't expect that sort of hatred for the nightster, that's all, good site tho don't get me wrong.. hella nice bikes.
