Default Questions about exhaust ?

I bought a set of V&amp\\;H shortshorts for my 08 Nightster. My Harley dealer told me it would cost approx $700 to put them on. They stated I would have to get a race tune kit, and a high flow air intake.&nbsp\\;Im thinking of just getting the Screamin Eagle Stage 1 intake and a V&amp\\;H fule pack and have someone else put it on. Is this a good idea for the performance of the bike and will it void the warranty on the bike, Also do I need to get a download or remapin from Harley if I do it myself.

the fuelpak is what does the remapping. they wanted 700 besides the cost of the pipes? i kno my dealer said about 1000 cost of pipes stage 1 kit remap and install. the pipes are 450 the fuelpak is 250 harley would charge 150 for remap if you went to them instead and then the stage 1 kit is like 150 or 200. then you gotta figure they are gonna charge you labor. i say do it yourself. it is not hard at all the fuelpak is even simple to use. i was gonna go that way but didnt have the extra grand so i jus removed my baffles and my bike sounds as good as anything else ive heard on the road great sound tone loud but not deafening. and needs no remap only cost me 26$ for a hole saw. jus another route. you could even jus install the a/c and exhaust yourself then jus have harley remap it. save yourself alot. idk bout the warranty tho

I bought my V&amp\\;H SS from the dealer for $380 the screamin eagle stage one from the dealer $150 and the fuel pak off ebay for $200. I did the install myself as it was very easy. I also purchesd the quiet baffles. I absolutley love this setup.

They told me it was going to be $580.00 for the race turner, $150 for the Stage 1, and $120 for labor.&nbsp\\; They told me the only way was to but the race tuner.

I was quoted somewhere around $1500 for the SE pipes & AC and the race tuner and the labor and dyno session. I ended up doing it myself for ~$800 using the V&H SS, SE AC and the PCIII. Honestly you can do the whole deal in 3-4 hours with the right tools on hand. Make sure you have the appropriate torque wrenches, torx bits for your ratchets and snap ring pliers.
