RE: front fender removal
I live at a beach resort April-Oct and a friend of mine removed his front fender on a 2004 XL1200R - for 1 day! \\; He got a boat load of sand kicked up at him and I would imagine the same thing would happen with road dust elsewhere. \\; As for me, \\;both fenders stay put!

If you like the look, cut the front part off. \\;IMO the bottom part is too short already. \\;I get caught in the Florida afternoon thunderstorms every few days and I get soaked by the front wheel. \\; My metric bike has a longer fender bottom (and wider block) and I stay much drier on that.

Mine goes on &\\;\\\\\\; off depending on if I have the couch on for the ol' lady. No real road dirt/dust issues but water is a whole different story.Carry a bandana with you to \\;\\\\\\;tie on \\;\\\\\\;the forks if you happen to be in the rain. It will help keep the road water \\;out of your face[8D]

+1 for a nice splash in the face from little puddles! I don't drive in the rain but a tiny puddle left behind from a car's air conditioner will get you every time if you don't watch out. Other then that I haven't had any problems on the highway or street. Looks cool and that's all that matters to me!
