OK, here are the standard questions: How are you going to USE the bike? Two up? Solo? Long trips? Short commutes? Interstate or 4-lane highways? Two lane twisties? Heavy traffic? parking garages? Big city? Rural? All of the above? None of the above? Some of the above?
The Nightster is a badass, small-framed, short-wheelbase solo bike. It looks good and runs good. It's nimble and quick.&nbsp\\;I like the Sportster because I do all of the above, it started with a good foundation of what I wanted, then I made it fit me. And now it fits me and how I use it. I eliminated the Nightster from consideration when I got my 1200L because I took an honest look at HOW I was going to use it. I use it for everything except hauling stuff that's too much to carry on it...or heavy rain, hail, sleet or snow.

You bought one of those? That's awesome
There's a guy who lives somewhere around here that has a silver one. I've seen him on it 2 or 3 times so far.
I bet that's a blast to ride
Thanks, yeah it's a lot of fun to ride. Takes some getting used to though, the linked braking system is great but theres no front handbrake so occasionally you're grabbing at air.

.....it's not you....
..I love these topics for the entertainment value....
&nbsp\\;
...it's kinda like a litmus test to see who the idiots are and the sharp guys are.......
&nbsp\\;
.Sporties don't have a bad name at all.....ya all just like to lament in it all and comfort yourself telling each other 'it's not a girl's bke.........I actually see more chics on BT's these days than ever......
&nbsp\\;
....man, I've had sporties and they are awesome bikes......especially the 1200 models......
....ya gotta get over that HD stigma that the BT's are better and be comfy w/ what ya ride......If some of you fools didn't see on this forum about the sporty/girls bike thing, you probably never would even know about the girl bike thing.....Just my 2 cents

Is it me or is it a requirement for this subject to come up every single week?

Hey Sleepman....Nice Spyder, I rode an exact replica&nbsp\\;of the one in your sig&nbsp\\;about a month ago....Felt like a cross between a fourwheeler &amp\\; a crotch rocket...It was fun.&nbsp\\; A buddy had it a his demo ride, and the dealership told him to just ride it around to let his buddies take it for a spin.&nbsp\\; &amp\\; yeah, I found myself grabbing air instead of front brake as well....

It looks like a snowmobile with wheels actually[8D]As we hit Johnstown at Thunder a big group of those (10-12) were tearing out of town.They looked pretty cool &amp\\; my Ol' lady had never seen one and was trippin'[&:]
Back to the subject. I have never ever had or heard anyone trash talking a Sportster until I hit the interweb here. I get snubbed on the wave from all kinds of folks at 1 point and time.No big issue did it for the normal "wave" that 99% of the riders do.Not like I really knew them or they paid my bike payment &amp\\; 1/2 the time at those speeds it's hard to tell the model as you quickly whiz by each other. I usually can tell the diff between HD's &amp\\; others. IMHO the Sportster is the best model Harley makes. I mean it's&nbsp\\;not like they are all riding a SE Springer or Bad Boy Springer so my Sportster is better IMO[8D]
