All the advice is fine, but one thing that hasn't been brought is maybe you need new friends...?&nbsp\\; Everyone I ride with has a big twin and I have never received a negative remark.&nbsp\\; Like other have most of them either still have their first harley (a sportster) or started on one.
&nbsp\\;
Now if you have the money and plan on doing a lot of 2up riding than I would buy a Big Twin.&nbsp\\; There's a big difference between friends giving you advice and making fun.

Screw'em man, buy and ride what you like. As long as it puts a smile on your face who cares what anyone else thinks. Besides real friends won't give you anymore than some good natured kidding about what you ride. I've seen plenty of badass nightsters on this forum that I'd own. If we all agreed on everything life would be pretty boring. Look at what I just bought, it ain't everyone's cup o' tea but I like it.

When you're taking a turn it feels just like riding a racing quad. There's a ton of power behind it so it'll get up and go, 106hp. With all the electronic safety and stability controls you can't do power slides but it'll lay a scratch anytime you want. The ride itself is really smooth, takes some getting used to the independent suspension on bumpy roads. Also have to keep a light touch on the handlebars because of the power steering.

You bought one of those? That's awesome
There's a guy who lives somewhere around here that has a silver one. I've seen him on it 2 or 3 times so far.
I bet that's a blast to ride

My wife bought this 1200C for me last August and I love the thing, I road to Fredericksburg, Va. today with two GoldWings and a 1100 Shadow. We are all mid 60s in age and had a great day.

Yep.&nbsp\\; It's called SIS.&nbsp\\; That would be Sportster Inadequacy Syndrome.&nbsp\\; It needs to be ignored, or preferably just thump the infected.&nbsp\\;

yea i ahve a nightster and my father has a 2007 road king every bike meet or anywhere we go everyone is asking bout my bike and giving compliments because there arent too many nightsters in my area. but i have been around alot of guys with bigger bikes and have never heard a bad word. some people ask me how i fit because im 6'3 but im actully very comfy on the bike. so i do not know why people give sportsters grief they are amazing bikes!
