RE: sportsters given a bad name?
Yep, everyweek. \\; Ride what you want but agree with a couple of the posts here. \\; Sporty's can handle 2up but the ride is so much better for her with a larger bike. \\; Sporty's are Harley's intro bike and so you get a little ribbing over it. \\; Never rode one myself, started on a 41' Harley my Dad had \\;and built \\;my own \\;ever since. \\; Rode the wife's Dyna the other day, nice bike but not my style!
Don't sweat it, just ride!

RE: sportsters given a bad name?
I have both a 1200 and a GL1800 Goldwing. I hear this kinda of bull no matter which one I ride. I just smile and maybe even laugh if it's funny. The laughing and snide comments quit real fast when I twist the throttle on either of them and have to squint my eyes to see them in the rear view mirror.
 \\;
I have always suspected that guys who make fun of other's rides have a small ***** and try to compensate.... Just my opion tho..... I have NO first hand experience to back that up....

Been riding for 2 years now, 2001 883 Sportster. Affordable, fun and excellant on twisty's. Big twins frown at me or any other Sporty, maybe cause they lost the enjoyment of a fun ride. Sure I want a tour bike, but the Sporty stays in my stable. Frown back at 'em and enjoy what ya got.
