Default Removing baffles from SE II's

Will it do my engine any harm if I remove the baffles from my SEII pipes and run it like that. I ride with others whose bikes are loud and mine just seems to get drowned out so I would like it to be a little louder. I have 05 XL883C with stage 1 mods. Thanks

Taking the baffles out, creates reversion, the loud pop on deceleration. It might not hurt the motor, but it will definetly choke your horsepower.

Removing the baffles will give you a hybrid drag pipe/small megaphone effect and you'll lose low and mid-range torque and speed by removing the back pressure.&nbsp\\; Best to put in a set of BCT baffles and gain the punch in the low and mid ranges while giving your bike some&nbsp\\;of the best sound you'll find.

Another option is to modify the existing baffles. Pull them out and redrill all the holes to 1/4 inch. You will gain sound and not effect power.

That is true, but there are two benefits to the BCT's you won't get by doing this - take it from me.
&nbsp\\;
Those benefits are increased low and mid-range performance from the BCT's and no "tinny" sound from the BCT's that you do get drilling out the stock SE II baffles.

You are 100% correct on the BCT'S. I did the mod to my SE II's only because it was a cheap solution. When I have a few extra bucks I'll get the BCT's
