just wanna vent about something...
I was riding this morning, following a guy who was smoking. When he had finished, he simply flicked the smoldering butt out the window, hitting me in the face with it...all I have to say is ..."what the Helll????" I am not a smoker, but someone please tell me why smokers feel it is o.k. to litter???? If we saw a kid throw his candy wrapper on the ground, we would be disgusted, If I toss my soda cup out the window...I could get a $300 fine...why is it o.k. to throw butts on the ground, out the window, leave them on the beach, throw them in the river, etc. etc. etc. ??? Sorry, this REALLY pisses me off, and just needed to vent.

This is one thing that always pisses me off. It is good enough to smoke in your vehicle but not good enough to put out in your vehicle. In my opinion it just shows a total lack of disrespect and how some smokers think that the rules do not apply to them and they do whatever the hell they feel like.

I'm pretty sure that the same fine applies for throwing a butt out the window as it would for anything else. Of course finding the cop to enforce it is another thing. I've heard down here in Southern Alabama that the local cops take it pretty seriously and will pull over and ticket offenders.

Besides the littering, iis just dangerous! I mean, do these guys not know when a motorcycle is behind them? I had one hit me right in the face shield at night: it looked like a tracer round coming right at my face. Every time someone does that, I try to pull up to them at the next light, when possible, and ask them politely not to do that again. They usually are mortified.

Before my wife and I quit smoking we always kept a soda or water bottle in the car just for putting our butts in. We both ride and know what it's like to get hit by the one tossed out a window so we never tossed them. My wife was also scared of starting a fire during the dry season in Florida. \\;
