Default se II's baffle removal question

REmoved the baffles on my 05 1200 custom....way too loud, have a headache after a 40 minute cruise. I want louder but not that loud.
Questions:
1) can I remove the packing and just put baffle back on for a louder sound? but not as loud as with baffles removed?
2) I had the carb done and airbreather with the SE 2 slip ons..now removing packing, will that lean me out??
Thanks!

There is no packing in a BCT baffle - it is all steel.

how do you get the baffle out of the screaming eagle mufflers, I see a stud and nut on the bottom of the muffler, Do I just take these out and then the baffle slides out???

Are you sure you have SE II mufflers?&nbsp\\; I ask because there are two bolts that hold in the baffle on each muffler.
&nbsp\\;
To remove the baffles on SE II's, you take the two bolts out, and then pull the baffles out.&nbsp\\; One was wedged in pretty well on mine, so I had to remove the muffler and drive a 1" dowel from the other end against the baffle to remove it.&nbsp\\; BCT baffles simply bolt back in place using the stock bolt holes.

as thumper stated for removal....but mine behind baffle have a steel tube packedf in steel wool type of stuff....I took them and baffles out...too loud...baffles out and packing in..still a little too loud...baffles in and steel packing out...seems quite nice at idle (just started raining so I can not take it out)....with BCT's do you remove the packing?

Yes Im sure I have screaming eagle mufflers, they are stamped so on the side..&nbsp\\; I stand corrected though it isnt studs and nuts on the bottom, it was a small bolt, but I only see one bolt on the forward muffler not on the rear, there are a couple of holes on the&nbsp\\; rear muffler, but no bolt.&nbsp\\; I took the bolt out of the forward one and the baffle wont even move a fraction.&nbsp\\; What am i doing wrong????

My SE II mufflers, that I bought new in 2006, came with the baffles held in place with two bolts on each muffler.&nbsp\\; There was NO "packing" material of any kind in the SE II mufflers, their baffles, nor the BCT baffles I subsequently installed.&nbsp\\; SE II mufflers were discontinued in early 2007 and replaced with SE mufflers which are 50-state legal and different ii internal design.&nbsp\\; SE II's are stamped "for off-road or competion use only" (or something similar).
