Default Rain Gear

New XL1200C owner.&nbsp\\; Anyone have a recommendation on good raingear that won't break the bank?&nbsp\\; I am reactively looking for something after being caught in a T-storm near Boston.

I use Frogg Toggs and they're water tight and light.&nbsp\\; Google them and you'll find a number of sellers.

Seems to me that what ever you wear, as far as rain pants there, going to melt if they gets near the exhaust pipes!

You may also want to try a local outdoor/camping store. I bought a light weight wind/water pant on sale for 30 bucks. Rolls up tight and doesn't take up much space along with my HD rain jacket. The pants have an elastic waist band with pull string tie, and a zipper opening at the ankle with velcro to make a snug tight fit around the ankles. I've had this set up for over fives years now and haven't gotten wet yet. Just another option to explore.

I have a pair of Frogg Toggs also. The price was right and they are very light and they wad up and store in a small bag. I haven't had to use them yet thankfully.
The only problem I see is the pants. The jacket fits perfect but the pants are a size or 2 too large. I know they have to fit over your jeans or whatever but come on I didn't know they would be MC Hammer pants. If you can get them seperate order the jacket the normal size and the pants a size or 2 smaller.
They seem very durable even though they feel like paper with a thin layer of plastic. I put some duct tape around the lower right leg where it meets the exhaust pipe to help keep them from burning if they ever come in contact with the pipes.

What ever you decide, pack some bands of some kind. Semi tight rubber bands, alastic bands etc. Put like 3 on each lower leg to snug the fit.

After thinking about the heat issue, I factored in how big the suit is when stowed. Dont want some huge pack to carry on questionable days.

Believe it or not the cheap plastic-like suit they sell at walmart/walgreens works if you just want something for emergency. Darn near fit in the rear pocket of my HD high vis jacket with my gloves and goggles.

Frog Togs are great.&nbsp\\; Not what I have, but that was a choice made based on compact size, not price and function.
