Hit by cager - Now what?

RE: Hit by cager - Now what?
If you are still in the Military you should have free legal through the JAG office. They may not be the best qualified to handle the case BUT they WILL look out for your well being and help you find a good attorney to get this settled the right way. I would DEFINITELY go after his A$$!!! If he owns it now he wouldn't when I was done with him. There is NO WAY the guy couldn't have known he had an accident!

I am going to assume your active duty (33 yrs old with 4 years left till retirement = 20 yrs at 37 / joined at 17). Shouldnt affect your career that I know of. I have many Soldiers invovled in auto/motorcycle accidents over the years. They recover or they medically chapter. At 16 years in service I would put you in an office/admin job for your last few years and have you ride it out. MMEB process would take prolly 18 months anyway and has a million ways to slow the process.
Far as the legal action. JAG wont do much as they are for the unit commanders needs, but you can see the Trial Defense Services on your installation for assistance. Often they can give you advice or legal assistance.

AGREED. \\; \\; \\; Not only did that phuckstyck cause physical damage that will/may affect you the rest of your life, he may very well have cost you MONEY for the rest of your life, ie losing your retirement if you can't stay in your last four years, \\; etc etc.

Best of luck to you.

First off, thank you for your service to this great country, sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope you can get this setteled to your satisfaction, the scoot can be fixed better than new. Glad to hear you have an appointment with a lawer, good luck there. Take that turd for everything you can. Maybe if you're lucky, the state you're in will have some "time" for him to think about what he did. Let us know what comes of this if you will.
