Default Chrome Handlebar

I have a 2006 XL 1200C Custom Sportster with the stock stainless handlebar. I want to replace the stock stainless bar with a chrome bar of the same shape and dimensions as the stock bar. According to the HD Accessory catalog there is no such animal. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The 06 stuff is slow coming to the parts world. My wife's bars for her 06 are on BO until at least the 13th. But almost all the bars in the catalog now are offerred in stainless and chrome so I imagine its only a matter of time.

Why not try a different shape bar? Take all the elements you like from the stock bars and see what's out there that you like better - in chrome.

Blackbird: I'm fairly certain that you can find a similar bar intended for the Dyna that will be the same shape in rise and pullback, but will be slightly longer. I would imagine that you could just cut the excess length off at each grip end with a pipe cutter to get the exact replica of your bars. I know that when I went looking for a replacement bar that "fit" my riding style, I finally found the above bar that I just described. I didn't have to cut off any length because that was what I was looking for........... BC

check with an independant shop. they usually deal with after market products that are usually better quality.

I called Harley HQ the other day and asked the same question. The customer service gal that answered my call couldn't answer my question immediately and said she would call me back with an answer. That was four days ago and I still haven't gotten any response.

Thanks for all your responses. I'll put my case to rest for now. I'm long overdue for a chrome break anyway.
