Default 6 speed tranny

Baker has finally come out with a 6 spd. for sporty's. Maybe I'm slow, and they've been out for a while I don't know. If I am slow, anyone here have one that would like to share their experiences?

i saw it in my J&amp\\;P book a few weeks ago, looks nice, just a drop in kind of thing.

my ducati has 6 speeds and i always use it, but thats becuase of they way ducs are geared, they are all pretty close together.

i dont ever see myself using 6th on a sporty, i only have 4 on mine and i am at 38k at 70MPH as it is. bike has a lot to give

Personally, I can think of alot of things for my bike I'd rather spend the $2,200 on.

I don't know, it seems to me that runnin at 75-80 mph and my rpm's are in the 4-4.5 range it's alot of vibration for a long time when going a couple hundered miles. My bike is a '92 so whenever I go on a long trip I find something new to fix, sounds like a good deal to only run 2k in my rpms for a long trip, easier on the bike and easier on me!

Are you sure it will drop the RPMs THAT much? Check this link that has a chart showing a 500RPM drop with the Baker 6 speed (scroll to the bottom of the page) Baker 6 Speed

I wouldn't be mad about not waiting if the '09 has it, since it'll take them at least a year to get the kinks out it's worth keeping your bike now and getting a '10 or '11 model.
