The instructions say to remove it, turn it counter clockwise while lifting up, its so smooth you can't get a grip on it to lift as you turn.

I guess I have finally learned my lesson no more H/D **** replacement parts, I also bought there shock spanner wrench which didn't fit with out major changes.

Going to call and see if they will take it back!

 

I can't imagine why you're having a problem getting it out.&nbsp\\; Just turn it CCW using the raised boss around the lens.&nbsp\\; You don't have to lift it, the threads will lift it out as you turn it.

 

I've got on on my bie no problems, but yes there are two small line on it. I like it cause it stays put when the popup kelp hitting my thigh and popping up. Now I don't have to check it everytime I stope.

 

I have one on my 06 1200C that one is a little hard to get on and off but I think its the oil tank on my bike that&nbsp\\;is the problem cause I tried it on another bike went on and off easer. Like others stated it could be made a lot better. Mine has not leaked yet. It kinda sucks If you spill gas on it the lens fogs up like another poster said. The oil tank on the 03 and back was a better made tank I like the look on the 03 oil tank and battery cover.

 

&nbsp\\;I bought one at about 1500 miles. fit's nice works good, gonna hit 10,000 by the end of the month. The temp gauge is nice to have.

I bought one for my 08 1200C &amp\\; it sucked donkey nuts!!! [:@] Oil started leaking so I just returned. I've got the stock back on &amp\\; I'm a happy camper, besides I can't do much about the temperature anyway!&nbsp\\;[:'(]

 

OMG, I can sure relate to having trouble reading &amp\\; seeing stuff as I get older.&nbsp\\;It almost seems like a conspiricy on some things - tiny print on dark backgrounds, small, indistinct lines, etc.&nbsp\\; I'm real sorry you got stuck w/ a POS dipstick!

 

Must be a hit or miss thing as I have 1 on My 06 C and it goes in and out&nbsp\\;ok , Stock one sucked for Me though, same problem as Your having with the temp gage one..........WVleo
